Frequently asked questions we get all the time from buyers and sellers. For your own peace of mind, please read the guidelines that are posted here in the frequently asked questions page. Should you have any questions that are not at present listed on the frequently asked questions page, then please send this to us via email. We kindly ask that you read the Home page, trading times, car boot prices and contact page for any other information before giving us a call.
BOOKING & RESERVATION:
We do not have a booking system at Horley. We do our best to accommodate your wishes.
Horley gives discount to Charity stalls, please telephone prior and we will inform you of the relevant paperwork you have to bring with you on the day.
COMMERCIAL SELLERS & TRADERS:
These are not permitted at Horley Car Boot Sale.
EARLY LEAVING PITCHES:
We have a few available, please ask the Marshalls on arrival.
ENTRANCE FEE FOR BUYERS:
We at Horley do not think people should be charged to come and look or buy, unlike many other Boot Sales. At Horley it is free to come along.
If this happens please ask your next door neighbour or the Marshalls for Jump Leads. However to avoid this make sure your lights are switched of both internally and externally.
FOOD & DRINK SALES:
Food & Drink may not be sold here in Horley.
We have a Food Van on site selling Hot & Cold drinks as well as the usual Burgers and Rolls.
FORBIDDEN & ILLEGAL SALES:
At Horley Car Boot we are very strict on anyone bringing or trying to sell the following. If need be, the Police and Trading Standards will become involved.
COUNTERFEIT & COPY GOODS:
All types, be they clothing, electrical, DVD’s etc.
Fireworks etc. are not permitted.

GUNS & WEAPONS:
These can be dangerous in the wrong hands and the law is clear on this, even BB Guns are forbidden. Cross Bows / Deactivated / Compressed Air / Blank Firing weapons are also forbidden.
LIVE ANIMALS / FISH / POULTRY / GAME:

Any genuine Police Uniforms are not permitted for sale, even fake ones can get you into trouble.

FREE PRIZE DRAW:
Is held at 12 noon for a lovely prize. Please keep your ticket in a safe place, this ticket is also your receipt.
HOMEMADE FOOD & CAKES:
It really is not worth the effort of baking etc. and also having the relevant paperwork ready for inspection along with Certificates and Insurance.
We love people bringing their home grown produce (including plants) to our Boot Sale.
JUNK & RUBBISH:
There are no facilities for you to leave anything behind, we are in a Council Car park and the cameras see you come in by your registration and know where you are parked and can clearly see the bins. Do not attempt to leave anything behind as there are fines up to £5000!!!! The council has been very persistent in catching any wrongdoers. If a Charity shop is open in the town on Sundays, you can ask them to take it, if not, it’s your goods so you must take it home. The Black Council bins are only for use of cups and papers etc. Please also see “RE-Cycling”
PARKING & DISABLED PARKING:
Parking is available in the Car Park opposite, the Council charge £1, (free to Disabled Drivers) and you can stay there all day. Disabled Badge holders may also park on “Double Yellows” but beware that you must not cause any obstruction, wardens do visit. Please do not park in Waitrose Car Park as they now have number plate recognition and you will be charged.

In the Car Park opposite you may recycle, Glass, Plastics, Paper, Card, Shoes & Clothes.
We observe a 2 minute silence at 11am in respect of the fallen.

We have our own Porta-Loo which is in the Car park opposite the sale and can be found behind the Council big blue container. Any complaints or lack of Toilet tissue, please inform the Marshalls.
